Lead Electrical Designer – Offshore Energy & Complex Installations | The Netherlands

Our partner is a leading engineering organization delivering tailor-made solutions for offshore wind, oil & gas, and emerging energy transition projects. To strengthen their design team, we’re looking for a skilled Lead Electrical Designer who will take ownership of electrical design packages while coordinating PDMS activities across multidisciplinary project teams.

This role offers the best of both worlds: hands-on electrical design combined with technical leadership in PDMS configuration, library setup, and guiding designers within complex offshore projects. You will work closely with specialists in structural, mechanical, process, and automation engineering to bring large-scale offshore installations to life.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Electrical Designer, you will:

• Lead and execute electrical design packages for offshore structures, topsides, and energy installations.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize PDMS for electrical design, including setting up the project library and standards.
• Guide and support designers in the project team on PDMS-related activities.
• Coordinate closely with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of E&I design into the overall engineering model.
• Prepare detailed engineering deliverables such as layouts, schematics, cable routing, and material specifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, project requirements, and fabrication considerations.
• Support engineering workflows from feasibility through detailed design, procurement, and construction support.

Your Profile

• MBO (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical design within offshore wind, oil & gas, or major industrial/energy projects.
• Strong experience with PDMS, including coordination or lead responsibilities.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to take responsibility for quality and consistency across electrical design work.
• Strong communication skills; enjoys sparring with multidisciplinary teams and guiding junior designers.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
