CFO – MedTech Scale-up | The Netherlands

For an innovative and fast-growing MedTech scale-up, we are looking for an entrepreneurial CFO to join the Management Team and contribute the transition from start-up to scale-up.

Our partner develops advanced medical technologies (hardware and software) in a regulated environment and is entering a new phase of expansion — including international markets and ongoing fundraising. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic finance, investor relations, and hands-on execution within a dynamic and ambitious organization.

Role Overview

As CFO, you act as a strategic sparring partner to the CEO and Management Team, while taking full ownership of the finance function. You will shape financial strategy, lead fundraising activities, and ensure the organization is built for its next growth phase. This role combines strategy and execution — from investor discussions to financial reporting and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering

• Strategic sparring partner for CEO and MT
• Drive planning, forecasting, and data-driven decision making
• Support commercial performance and pipeline steering

Corporate Finance & Stakeholder Management

• Lead fundraising activities (equity, debt, grants) including Series A and beyond
• Manage relationships with investors, shareholders, and financial partners
• Prepare and present financial insights, risks, and growth scenarios

Finance & Operations

• Own financial administration, reporting, and controls
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and runway
• Lead month-end, reporting cycles, and external audit coordination
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
• Improve financial processes, systems, and tooling

Your Profile

• 10+ years of experience in finance, preferably in a high-growth or scale-up environment
• Experience in a leadership or end-responsible finance role
• Experience with fundraising, VC, or PE is a strong plus
• International experience, e.g. US market exposure
• Affinity with healthcare and MedTech/ SaMD
• Hands-on, pragmatic, and a strong communicator
• Positive and energetic — comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a scale-up
